A Winter Wedding in the Italian Alps: an intimate, authentic and unrepeatable experience

There are places that are not simple venues, but homes that welcome you with the warmth and intimacy of an embrace.

La Bursch is one of these: an old stone-and-wood dwelling turned into an elegant country house, hidden in the Piedmont Alps among streams and beech and chestnut woods.

Each room is a world of suggestions: travel memories, objects that speak of far-off experiences, intimate and precious details that guard the soul of those who live there. Here, winter becomes poetry, and every room tells a story.

For Silvia and Riccardo, winter is pure emotion. La Bursch was the only place where their story could truly come to life: a winter wedding, intimate and authentic, an elegant and intense celebration of the deep cold.

A house that holds memories

A family home forgotten, then found again and filled with new life.
Its rooms are not empty spaces to be decorated, but chapters in the lives of four generations of stonemasons and travellers. Paintings, books, objects from distant places, memories and inspirations from lives fully lived: everything contributes to the atmosphere of a cultured, welcoming, profoundly authentic home. A house where hospitality is warm, spontaneous and genuine.

A design that grows from the place

The house was already magnificent in its Christmas atmosphere: garlands, candles, the scent of pine resin.

This is why we chose a “less is more” approach: not to cover, but to harmonise, to enter into dialogue with what was already there.
The décor wove itself into the rooms, taking shape by following the character of the house and emerging naturally from its spaces, in tune with their atmosphere: conifers and branches from the woods, cotton flowers, natural berries, forest tones and a fresh fragrance of snow-covered woods.

A discreet, natural, intimate scenography that felt as though it had always belonged to that house.

A wedding as a journey, room after room

La Bursch is a complex residence: a real house with several levels, cosy rooms and unexpected passages.
We chose not to simplify it, but to turn it into a sensory journey, giving each space its own imprint and creating an intimate, warm atmosphere.

Guests were welcomed in the little courtyard with hot mulled wine, a pleasant comfort against the cold, and from there their path began:
· The ceremony in the Butterflies Room, a poetic room with an entire wall of illustrated butterflies.
· The aperitif between The Well Room, with its artisanal nativity scene, and The Billiard Room with its 1930s déco bar.
· Dinner, spread over several levels: a long imperial table in the Butterflies Room, smaller, more intimate tables in the kitchen and the sitting room, and the bride and groom at a romantic, private table in the corridor.

The mise en place was elegant and natural, with silver and winter details and an atmosphere designed to enhance the unique charm of each room. The same magic could be found in the menu: a fragrant, flavourful balance of tradition and innovation, inspired by the woods and the surrounding nature.

Moments that stay with you

This wedding became a true collection of unique, memorable moments.

The panettone, instead of the classic wedding cake, was transformed into five different creations, architectural and irresistible.
The desserts, served on the billiard table, added a playful and unexpected touch.
The bouquet, kept inside the display case of padlocks: only one key could open the glass, turning the gesture into a small mystery to be shared.

And finally, the perfect conclusion: a honeymoon in Antarctica, to close a story devoted to cold and to the beauty of things that are real and essential.

An Italian winter that doesn’t exist anywhere else

Authenticity, warmth, culture, atmosphere: the very essence of the Italian winter experience.

People come to Italy for something that cannot be found anywhere else: to live an intimate and unrepeatable winter chapter, unique, genuinely Italian, to be savoured slowly, surrounded by the magic of the mountains, the scent of snow, the silence of the woods and the warmth of human connection.

An experience that is deeply original and full of soul, where time seems to slow down and every moment turns into poetry.
